Day 1: #RealCarersWeek It’s been really telling that #Carers this #CarersWeek aren’t taking any prisoners. No ‘unsung heroes’ rhetoric, no pledges or thanks without action. Being invisible & effectively on our own for months means any tolerance for flannel has completely gone.
Séan was a big disability rights campaigner including on peer representation. Glad to have known him. A big loss to us in Lambeth.
Seán McGovern was a great trade unionist and a passionate campaigner. We couldn’t have hoped for a more dedicated champion for disabled people's rights on the TUC General Council - or for a more kind and decent man. All our thoughts are with Seán’s loved ones and union comrades.

Councils were told to 'spend what is necessary' to tackle this virus and it would be reimbursed. Local government have stepped up magnificently savings lives and livelihoods. If we are shafted it will be the most vulnerable, reliant on social services, who suffer further
