No consultation either. We've had 5 days finals so far and followed everything they asked.
A thousand young footballers have had their junior cup finals cancelled by Tameside Council. They were due to take place at Curzon Ashton this weekend. The council say Covid rules were breached at a charity match on Wednesday. Its not thought it'll lead to pressure on the NHS.

We feel for these kids too. The ground are responsible for safety and serious breeches have occurred. We are trying to safeguard our community and will work with the club to help them reschedule. The way rates have spiralled in other parts of GM shows how careful we must be
Not a great comment to make, the EMJFL ran the previous 5 days of finals and worked along to your requests. We’ve never been consulted on this, but our kids have been punished. You contacted us a few weeks prior and all was sorted. Sure there’s an alternative agenda here 🤔
It's really not a decision we wanted to have to make. We have to put the safety of the public first & keep covid rates down. We tried to work with the club but they could not make the event safe for everyone. We're working with the club so it can be rescheduled safely soon
