It is so painful to keep reading these stories, but you must. Nevaeh Crain died of a miscarriage because of Texas's abortion ban. “This is how these restrictions kill women. ..It is never just one decision, it’s never just one doctor, it’s never just one nurse.”

Nevaeh Crain visited 2 Texas emergency rooms in 12 hours, returning home each time worse than before. On her third trip, a doctor insisted on 2 ultrasounds to “confirm fetal demise” before moving her to intensive care. Hours later, Nevaeh died. propublica.org/article/nevaeh…

As co-director of the ACLU LGBTQ Project, Chase has spent years advocating for trans families in challenges to bans on medical care, arguing the issue four times before federal appeals courts, more than any attorney in the country.

While the state can make inquiries into specific voters with evidence to support its claims that an individual is not legally eligible to vote, it cannot enact blanket purges based on potentially inaccurate databases this close to the election. dakotanewsnow.com/2024/10/08/acl…

Federal law prohibits blanket purges of voters 90 days before an election. SD conducted one of these purges a mere 28 days before the election and then bragged about it in a press release. @ACLUSouthDakota demands these wrongfully purged voters be immediately reinstated.

News alert! The ACLU of South Dakota demands immediate reinstatement of voters purged from registration rolls. aclusd.org/en/press-relea…

NEW REPORT‼️ The data shows there were more pregnancy-related prosecutions in the first year after Dobbs than in ANY prior year. Why? State actors are emboldened, putting pregnant people under INCREASED surveillance and making a dire situation even worse. pregnancyjusticeus.org/wp-content/upl…

This is absolutely devastating. Amber Thurman waited 20 hours for doctors to finally operate on her spreading infection, sinking blood pressure, and failing organs. By then, it was too late. If she had access to timely care, she would still be here. Abortion bans kill people.

At least two women's deaths have been officially found "preventable" after they couldn’t access legal abortions in their state and timely medical care, ProPublica has found. There are almost certainly others. propublica.org/article/georgi…
