On June 20, 2024, Bridger Clark-Alderman, stepson of Firefighter Paramedic Richard Lucius, was honored with the Medal of Merit, a heroism award from Scouts BSA. Bridger provided critical first aid, including fashioning a handmade tourniquet, to stop a life-threatening bleed.
The brand-new Engine 4 left headquarters and is officially in-service and ready to serve the citizens of East Lexington. She has already responded to three calls for service this afternoon. #lexingtonma #yourlexingtonfirefighters #engine4 #newengine #fireengine @TownOfLexMA
Phone service will be intermittent this morning as staff continue to move into our new building. Our business line, (781) 862-1212, will still be available – but you may not be able to reach the phone lines of individual staff members. 911 service will NOT be impacted.

Today, Ladder 1 came to the rescue to save a woodpecker trapped in a chimney. The little bird was thrilled to be back in the open air and quickly flew off in search of a birdbath! This marks the second successful bird rescue of Lt. McKinney's career! #birdlovers #woodpecker

#YourLexingtonFirefighters, in collaboration with several metro Boston agencies, took part in a MCI drill at @HanscomField The focus of this drill was an active shooter scenario and evaluate the preparedness of our mutual aid system to handle high-profile incidents. @TownOfLexMA
This morning a multi-agency active shooter drill was held at Hanscom Field, a large emergency presence could be seen. The drill has now concluded and airport operations have resumed to normal.
Thank you to Lexington Deputy Town Manager Kelly Axtell for joining us today during our recruit orientation at Hanscom AFB. Kelly put on 75lbs of gear and went through a live-fire evolution with the crews, gaining a first-hand experience of our profession. @TownOfLexMA
