What a powerful reflection on #delirium "There was what I experienced as abuse, harassment, humiliation, and torture. Everything that happened to me in my delirious state was real to me and to this day, my memories survive in this way. I can feel, taste, see and hear it all."

Working on this with @RehabLegendLou has been a privilege - space for patient narrative can only forward understanding and improve care This piece on #Delirium is further testament to that. Thanks Lou for being a #rehablegend Open access @yourICM 👉🏼bit.ly/49bpIst

It's also incredible that Dx of #delirium - which affects 1 in 4 older hospitalised patients - is still way below acceptable levels. Very different from similarly common & serious acute condition such as ACS & pneumonia.

‼️ We need to use the word 'delirium' for #delirium. 🚫 no more 'acute confusion', 'acute on chronic confusion', etc. ➡️ Only use 'acute encephalopathy' for the underlying pathology 📕 Key consensus article: link.springer.com/article/10.100… #WDAD2023 @iDelirium_Aware
