"Whatever it takes" Europe's population: c. 500m Europe's military help for Ukraine: c. EUR 50bn = EUR 100 per citizen Divide by 33 months of war = EUR 3.0 => Europe's military help = 1 cup of coffee per citizen per month. We can do more.

1000 days of large scale war and over 10 years of war. What started as a 3 days war still lasts This war could have ended earlier, if everyone did what they promised and wouldn’t “manage escalation”. They anyway failed to manage it. Half measures lead to half results. Always!

I used my last doorstep at the FAC to state that peace through de-escalation is a failing and failed strategy. We need a new strategy, a winning strategy, a strategy of strength. Then the phonecalls would actually make sense.

It took almost 1000 days of large scale war to realize that the war won’t end by itself. Without real steps (not phone calls) to coerce russia, things won’t change.

US officials leaked in the media the permission for Atacms strikes on Russia. What for?

Excellent results of Scholz’s call with Putin. Russia just launched a massive attack with ballistic and cruise missiles and drones. I think over a hundred. We didn’t have time to get to the shelter as explosions started 2 minutes after the warnings

A few months ago, Chancellor Scholz asked President Zelensky whether a call to Putin would be appropriate. Zelensky opposed the idea, and Scholz refrained. However, after the US elections, Scholz decided the time had come and made the call. Zelensky publicly but gently criticized…

Now #China is also not afraid of sanctions - for the first time it provided lethal weapons to help #Russia in its war. Constant fears of 'escalation' and phone calls to Putin will not change #Russia, but long-range artillery deep into Russia can.

Everyone is scarred that Trump will call Putin and "sell Ukraine". In the meantime, Scholz: -Hold my beer!

No, Herr @Bundeskanzler Germany’s prosperity must not come at the cost of Ukraine’s survival and Europe’s future security.

Short and clear from Zelenskyy about Scholz’s call to Putin. Leaders of other countries should support Zelenskyy.

Chancellor Scholz told me that he planned to call Putin. His call, in my opinion, opens Pandora's Box. There may now be other conversations and phone calls. Just a lot of words. And this is exactly what Putin has long sought. It is critical for him to weaken his isolation, as…

😲 Wow. 50% of Germans say raising the defence spending to 3-3,5% GDP is *just right*! 15% even think that’s not enough! Source: koerber-stiftung.de/en/projects/th…

Without security guarantees, all discussions about the end of the war are likely to fail, writes @LeonidL Western governments should move away from the “peace for land” formula and instead promote “security guarantees for peace”. More below ⬇️ buff.ly/3YCdOE3

Tusen takk!

Norway's largest party, Høyre, wants to triple funding to 🇺🇦 next year. Up from 15 billions kroner (Government's proposal) to 45 billion kroner (€3,82 billion). The most will go to strengthen Ukraine's own defense industry. tv2.no/direkte/jpybz/…

Very good framing from president Macron on the Europe’s role. Now action is needed!

Donald Trump was elected by Americans to defend the interests of Americans. The question we, as Europeans, must ask ourselves is, are we ready to defend the interests of Europeans?

Excellent that Steinmeier had to listen to this. There are plenty more in Germany’s elite who still need to hear it too.

From 1 Star

From now on, this should be a daily reminder

A kind reminder that Europe has more than enough money to support Ukraine -- frozen russian assets, >200B€ of which were immobilized in the European countries. Time to act now & #makerussiapay!

The clock is ticking. There is not much left of 24 hours. Nothing happens (except of some colateral victims in Germany)
