Creativity and critical thinking has been a focus this week at Breakfast club and After school club with the children taking part in many activities. The children have been artists, chess players and construction builders.
This week at breakfast club and after school club the children have been taking part in construction challenges, arts and crafts, board games and obstacle courses. Throughout the week the children have developed their team work, creativity and imagination.
Some of the lovely activities we have done already this term for our learning enquiry question, “what do I celebrate”.
We have been exploring toys from the past and present and a parent brought in their rocking horse from home. We set up the tuff tray showing the children where different animals live and explored different painting techniques including painting on foil and clingfilm. .
A great week making hedgehog's using playdough and using a fork to give the hedgehog his spikes. we have been doing experiments using dry wipe markers and water, and been continuing our carpet time learning how to keep calm and relaxed. Even had time to plant some flowers.
We have learnt about different rooms in our house, talking about healthy eating, germs and washing our hands .We have also learnt about shapes. We made silly faces and drew around different shapes. The children have also shared what they are thankful for.
We are excited to announce that we are holding a toddler group for any families who are interested in learning more about a space in our preschool.
Another delightful week has come to an end at Little Learners. This week, we have been engaging in various activities such as building dens, using different tools to break ice, and exploring the types of homes people live in around the world.

The children have been learning about different occupations. We have had a visit from the local fire crew, police man and his van and the RSPCA to learn how to look after our pets. The children have loved talking about what they want to be when they grow up.
This term we have been asking the children 'What would you like to be?'. We have been talking about different occupations and the children had a visit from a police officer. The children asked him lots of questions and got to have a look in his police van.
To celebrate 'walk to school week' on Wednesday 22nd May all the parents, children and staff met at the local park and walked to school together. The rain didn't stop us and we had a lovely time talking about how to keep safe by the roads and why walking is so good for us.
To celebrate International Family Day we invited in family members to come and enjoy a day in the life of a child at Little Learners. We did hand painting, playdough, planted new flowers in our growing area and much more.
This week we have been using different ways to use our artistic skills. We've been copying some famous artist paintings and painting on cling film instead of paper. The children have loved exploring different textures and using their imagination to create some wonderful artwork.
We celebrated Mother's Day today with an afternoon of arts and crafts followed by an afternoon tea.
The children have come into preschool today with their pyjamas on and their favourite book to share with their friends. We have also made bear masks and gruffalo crumble. #WorldBookDay2024
A lovely winding walk to the park. We love to take the children out and about in the community where we are lucky enough to have access to the park and shops.
Every Friday we welcome in Boogie beats and the children get to enjoy a mix of music, dance, songs, stories, props and of course lots of fun!
