Tento týden vyrazily na Šumavu hned dvě party našich půdařů. První z nich - "rašelináři" - odebírali další ze série vzorků z rašelinišť. Dlouhdobý monitoring napoví, jaký efekt mají revitalizace mokřadů, které v @npsumava probíhají v rámci projektu @LIFEforMIRES 💧
Sphagnum mosses are infamous for storing carbon but did you know they are also one of the world's largest organisms? Super clones of Sphagnum - separate plants that are genetically identical - can stretch for 10s to 100s of kilometers of bogland. Incredible biology.
