Our new preprint on PGR5 and regulation of ATP synthase under fluctuating light is out! We took a multi-species approach and studied pmf dynamics in Arabidopsis, Chlamydomonas, Setaria viridis, Synechocystis, as well as Synechococcus.
PGR5 is needed for redox-dependent regulation of ATP synthase both in chloroplasts and in cyanobacteria biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh… #biorxiv_plants

📢New new paper from the @PhotoMicrobes group! @MichalHubacek_ shows that a robust heterologous electron sink can outcompete cyclic electron transport and the FLV-dependent pathway. This is important for the rational engineering of cells for bioproduction.
