September is rail safety month, & our deputies have been busy participating in grade crossing operations over the last few weeks. It's important to remember never to stop on train tracks, always obey grade crossing signals/signs, & to be alert when driving or walking near tracks.

I want to let to our community know Deputy Clinkunbroomer left his family tonight to serve our community. He laid everything on the line to serve us. He wore a uniform just like other @LASDHQ deputies wear, driving in a police car, and he was senselessly murdered tonight.

When you see the gate or flashing lights, it’s time to put your phone down and look around. Tracks and crossings are dangerous places, on foot or in a vehicle. Never try and beat a train. And cross like your life depends on it – because it does. #RailSafetyMonth
