In a year of incredible struggle, here’s a story of resilience that I hope brings some joy to you. 10 years ago, Fauja Singh became the first 100-year-old to run a full marathon. Today, April 1, he celebrates 110 years on this earth. Happy 110th birthday, Fauja Singh!

Respect to the speakers...BUT... honestly, shame on @Tulane for using Black folks for PR when they haven’t changed shit. Institutions love to parade us out to save face. It’s the oldest (racist) trick in the white supremacist playbook. This does not absolve you. Nice try.

💬 Tulane faculty and staff are invited to join the Anti-Racism and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion Teach-In on Friday, April 2nd. Keynote discussions with Rhonda Broussard (@BroussardRhonda) and Ibram X. Kendi (@DrIbram). Register at: tulane.edu/edi/anti-racis…

Just a reminder that #GeorgeFloyd’s murder occurred on the backdrop of Minneapolis having among the worst racial inequities in the nation - in literally *every* measurable societal outcome, from health to education to income. npr.org/sections/money…

Defense attorney for Derek Chauvin: "You will see that three Minneapolis officers can not overcome the strength of Floyd." Yes, we will see the same old racist defense for police violence: the big, bad Black man who resisted arrest and caused his own death. #DerekChauvinTrial

Derek Chauvin is on trial. America is on trial. Our criminal-legal system is on trial. George Floyd is not on trial.

#WhiteAmericans, here’s a litmus test for if you harbor racist thoughts: You think hiring a person of color requires firing a person of merit (white person). As if the person of color could not be hired DUE to merit and that their MERIT could not possibly supersede yours.

Meghan McCain: "We’ve only had one Asian American host co-host host this show. Does that mean one of us should be leaving because there’s not enough representation? We're talking about -- is identity politics more important than the qualifications for the job?"

Stop enslaving us through new means by asking us to teach you about the cage you continue to put around us. Stop breaking our minds and bodies. Stop perpetuating the cycle of abuse your ancestors started by asking us to continually teach you about how to let us be free.
