Excited to announce here at Better Conversations HQ @volkmer_anna @clairefarring20 & I are designing an online communication partner training course for #SLTA working in adult neuro. More information and a date in the new year! @SLTAcen @RCSLTLearn

Next year I will be getting my first placement student(s)…not sure if it will be more than one yet! I’m excited 🎉Any advice from experienced placement educators?! Or students who’ve had good (or bad) experiences?! ☺️ @RCSLTLearn @RCSLT @UCL_MScSLS @GivingVoiceUK #slt #placement

I had such a wonderful 2 weeks off work to recharge (and play lots of @FortniteGame including the Lego update… loving my little village). Now back to the grind for the last bit before Christmas 🎄🎅🏻 #slt #annualleave #holiday #christmas #backtowork #recharge

Panel Discussions: Could we ask for videos of our patients from before their event or condition which changed their communication? Would it give us some valuable info on style of conversation to focus on? #CPT @BCconf2023

#BCconf2023 @Kristina_SLT "can we go bigger?" Can we skill up carers to use it day in day out in care homes, & caring in people's homes? The care industry need to know about CPT @BCconf2023

Onto a very interesting talk by @MadelineCruice about how CPT can be varied and different in various settings. It’s a diverse friendly therapy and can be tailored to our clients. @BCconf2023 @BCAphasia #BCconf2023 @UCL_MScSLS

Inspiring service user session @BCconf2023 highlighting the importance of building a supportive relationship with SLT at start of Conversation Partner Training and how this helps the feedback process #BCconf2023

This has been so amazing to listen to! 🥺♥️

#BCconf2023 our opening session - a privilege to hear from ppl w communication difficulties & conversation partners, experiences of CPT: "before it was (shows himself looking & listening) but now..." (PWA) "you can lead conversations, ask questions" (CP) "yes!" @BCconf2023

Feedback from people with aphasia and their partner is the importance of therapist-patient relationship. This rapport building is so useful and can help confidence! “It is fundamental” Often the person with aphasia can withdraw from society, we can help! #BCconf2024 @BCconf2023

How amazing and inspiring to hear from service users. Their stories and feedback is interesting and helpful for future development of our use of conversation partner training! ♥️🙌🏻 #BCconf2023 @BCAphasia @BCconf2023 @volkmer_anna @UCL_MScSLS @RCSLTLearn #betterconversations #slt
