I want to rant about football. No, not the beautiful game we all watch on TV. Something else I find increasingly disturbing as my kids get older. I wonder if the way the sport is structured is worsening whatever racial/class divides we have in this country.
...get in there Scotland!!! See you at the Euros 🏴 🏴 🇬🇧
One of the many reasons I will always support #EndSARS movement. My senior in Kings College, Lagos, Ugochukwu Ozuah was killed by police 5 days after his wedding. Continue to RIP Prefect Ozuah. Service to the living, honour to the dead. Floreat. 🙏🏾✊🏾 #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigera
Read "Protest to Participation #EndSARS" an article on Medium: Today is the 11th day of #EndSARS. The protest is abt reform in Social Justice, Rule of law, Criminal Justice. Let's go from protest to participation, frm demanding governance to providing it. link.medium.com/qfHogjlgFab

12. just had to add this...interesting to point out that total state govt debt is about N4.4trn & TOTAL annual states IGR is ONLY N800bn 😰
11. This is an illustration of mortgaging future generations & I doubt if a more worrying picture of the state of the states can be painted.
10. With 3 reducing their external debt in 2017: Adamawa Katsina Nassarawa
9. And then you consider that only 5 States have reduced their local currency debt in 2017: Delta Ebonyi Edo Gombe Kebbi
8. We're just talking of interest, not principal, salaries, infrastucture nor development of the states...just interest & they can't survive
7. Basically, this data tells us that if we took ALL the IGR of each state, only 8 states can meet ONLY INTEREST payments on their debt.
6. If this doesn't give Governors, @HMKemiAdeosun and Bank CEOs sleepless nights & i doubt that it does, I'm not really sure what else will
5. Nasarawa, Kebbi, Ekiti have ratios as high as 300-500% & Borno, Zamfara, Ebonyi, Imo, Osun, Bayelsa & Gombe are between 200-300%
4. Hard to believe but ALL the other states have their IGR at less than the INTEREST accruing on their domestic and foreign debts.
3. Only 6 other states managed to keep theirs at < 100% Kano 53% Edo 63% Enugu 80% Delta 87% Abia 92% Yobe 95%
2. Only 4 states have Debt Service to IGR ratios of < 50% (assuming 15%pa & 10%pa on lcy & fcy). Ogun 21% Rivers 28% Lagos 33% Kwara 44%
