It took 8 months to make it, but here's the latest chapter in my Austin Allegro electric car conversion! Got the motor spinning, plus we actually drove the car on a household extension cord. Slowly. 😂 Enjoy! youtube.com/watch?v=Hoks-0…

I went for a ride-along in this electric police car. Share the video! youtu.be/VykBnrgDGnA Turned out to be pretty educational plus we pulled someone over for speeding. Combustion is no match for this battery powered beast. 🚔

Allo allo allo, what's all this then? Waiting to hear back from the police (the crime fighters, not the band) as there is a good chance the electric police car video will go live tonight. Cross your fingers.

The Chinese are doing something amazing things in the tech sphere.

NEWS: Chinese EV maker Xpeng showed off its modular flying vehicle called Land Aircraft Carrier. • Starting price: $280,000 • They've received 2,000 orders • Takes 5 minutes to put the aircraft back in the carrier • Aircraft cabin fits two people • Supports 5-6 short…

It's so nice not to buy Middle East war juice just to get to work. Running a car off my solar panels is easier, cleaner, healthier and cheaper. It's more logical in every single way.

CONSUME POTATO TODAY. THAT IS AN ORDER.

The Polestar 3 is drinking electrons at 195 kW right now. That's a very respectable charging speed. Though it needs it with a freaking massive 111 kWh battery. 😳

Bought myself an identical Austin Allegro instrument cluster to play with. I need somehow translate the digital CAN bus signal from the Leaf motor into analogue spinnyness. Fortunately I have no idea what I'm doing so my expectations are set nice and low.

Man this Polestar 3 loves the kiwi corners. It's surprisingly responsive & agile for a vehicle of its size and weight. Might be wise to buy shares in Pirelli after I've finished with it. 😅

First of these Windrose E1400 big rigs should hit New Zealand in a few weeks. During a test run in China, one got 2253 km fully loaded (49 tonnes) with 2 rapid charges. The trucking industry is ripe for electrification but I suspect many DieselBros ain't gonna like it! 😂

Good progress on the Allegro. The cooling fan is pretty grunty too.

Another evening, another achievement on the Allegro EV conversion. Cooling system is now complete and the DC-DC converter has been tapped in. Soon it'll be time to somehow buy a battery pack. That reminds me, I need to buy a lottery ticket...

Well that's interesting. Testing has just revealed that the Polestar 3 has a PSC of 71, which is a surprising 31.48% increase over the Polestar 4.

I'm really slack but I'm playing catch-up on Johnny's Austin Allegro build. If you haven't seen his sleeper build then check it out. It's gonna go like stink. I love the 'fake' exhaust pipette and heated windscreen. youtube.com/watch?v=viKWL7…

I can't be the only person who isn't really bothered either way by Vegemite or Marmite. They're both so similar in taste and they both do the same job.

I mean, technically correct.

That's... interesting.

Little bit more progress. The coolant system in the EV conversion is almost ready for testing. Just need some more hose clamps, coolant and a reservoir bottle and we can power it up. Curious to see what it sounds like. Going to try it tonight.
