We are staying with Twitter. Blue Sky moderation is restricting some campaigns for our wildlife & climate. Twitter has always been fine for us!

Losing followers big time which is so sad as this platform hasn’t been toxic to me. It’s been a platform that connects fellow nature lovers, helped me raise awareness with politicians and raised my voice for birds.

Please help sign the petition. Help encourage EU Commission to STOP its legal challenge.

Will you tell the @EU_Commission to drop its legal challenge that puts puffins and kittiwakes at risk? share.eko.org/892736726t?ref…

Few more programming updates this afternoon. If anyone notices any gremlins, just let me know.

As WordPress updates, so do we. We are making a few programming changes to our website this morning to align to this new version. If anyone notices any bugs wandering or skeletons in our closet, just let us know. tynekittiwakes.org.uk

A great crowd gathered at Newcastle Civic Centre for the rally to speak up for climate justice.

I am lost for words, @NewcastleCC have actually implemented something canny for quaysides wildlife. No more allowing light shows however directed @balticgateshead whilst @KittiwakesTyne have eggs hatching & new chicks. Please. It was not nice for them this year.

Really delighted to see that the #team from @NewcastleCC have replaced all the street lights along the #Quayside with new LED lights. Much brighter, but also energy efficient, less light pollution and better for wildlife. And safer for everyone at night.

Newcastle Labour have lost their majority moving council into NOC. If new leadership appears, will we see an end to light shows directed at the @balticgateshead whilst our Tyne Kittiwakes are nesting? No guarantees have been presented that suggest they won't happen again.

Lib Dems defeated in attempt to have debate on an independent inquiry into the council's leadership moved up the agenda so it can be held tonight. Vote was 31 against, 28 for, and 2 abstentions (Marion Williams, newly-independent, and Jane Byrne, suspended from Labour group).

Have thoughts on a new £19M facility improving River Tyne’s health and protecting local jobs? 💼 Located at Bill Point, it will safely contain contaminated sediment from historic mining. 📍 Share feedback via RTRF@mottmac.com or the form in comments by 11 Nov 2024. 👇
