Kenya keeps extorting and harassing visitors at the airport. It’s about to get worse with mandatory phone IMEI registration

This is a public hospital in KILIFI COUNTY, COAST, KENYA. From 2013, Kilifi has received KSH100 BILLION as a devolution share. The former Governor is now the Senate Speaker. The current Governor is a mess. You are not angry enough. Wake up, stop sleeping! #DrainTheSwamp

With 308 million cows, India accounts for 20% of the global total of 1.5 billion, while the U.S. has 87.3 million, representing 6%. In contrast, Kenya has only 4.5 million cows, or 0.3% of the global population. But it's only Kenya being subjected to cattle vaccination.

Government gets dollars (fx reserves), burns them to maintain the USDKES peg at 129.0. Commercial banks borrow from CBK, take deposits, and then invest with GoK bonds for a risk free yield (KES 2.1 billion per day). Treasury expands tax collection by overtaxing everything and…

Today, and every day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, the government will pay Ksh 2.1 Billion (DAILY!!) to pay Interest (Not Primcipal!) to domestic debt holders of Treasury Bills and Treasury Bonds. This bleeding is simply unbearable. We are working for these very few debt…

Remember, all Kamala Harris needs to win is PA, MI, WI, and NE’s 2nd District - that gets her to 270 flat. GA and NC would be bonuses.

Storing this data is probably illegal under EU and US data protection legislation; and is a massive individual security risk as the IMEI number is what allows a phone to be tracked and hacked. My reluctant advice as a security professional - AVOID KENYA.

Wait… what? Every passenger coming into Kenya has to declare a serial number on their phone they didn’t even know existed. That’s going to work really well. Muppetry at its finest… standardmedia.co.ke/amp/national/a…

This disconnect is why government policies often fail to address real issues. The leaders live in a bubble, rarely experience the daily struggles of the masses, and are out of touch with the very people their decisions affect.

Why don’t government officials ever mix with ordinary citizens? They’re driven to/from the plane and kept separate in exclusive VIP lounges so they don’t even know how terrible the airport experience is

There is someone paying 440,000Ksh for SHIF to get 2,580 annually for hbp, 900ksh annually for consultation, 1,000 annually for spectacles. Please make it make sense?

We are gradually overcoming the teething challenges in the roll-out of our Universal Healthcare that started 32 days ago. Today only 2,511 claims have been sent through by Health facilities using the e-claims system. Once we connect all the dots ours will be the most soohiscated…

The hope Botswana is feeling today is what we felt in 2002. May that feeling visit us again, and may it be long-term.

Unfortunately, just like Linda here, many Kenyans perceive power as a tool of personal gratification & not as a tool for societal transformation. Meaning, if you give them power, what matters ni magari, house, powerful friends,security...not how to use it to change the society😌.

Umezoea magari over 30, security kila mahali including your rural home, access to the president, state house and state resources and facilities……..your entire family is guarded….you are second in command. Then unaamka and everything is gone. Power………

The new president of Botswana wants an engaged citizenry. He’s aware that they may even be enraged but he welcomes it. In some countries, enraged citizens are called criminals and accused of trying to burn down the country
