Labour thought they could squeeze the private sector by hiking employer National Insurance Contributions (NICs)……They forgot that the public sector also pays it 🫤 At #PMQs today the Prime Minister could not answer how much more it will cost to pay for care homes staff [1/5]

Dr Kieran Mullan MP 🇬🇧 🇺🇦 Reposted

📄 Following the #AutumnBudget, we’ve asked @wesstreeting about the impact of Employer NIC increases on non-NHS care providers, such as GPs, pharmacies, social care and hospices. We’re seeking more information on how it will affect them. Read the letter: committees.parliament.uk/publications/4…

Saying the quiet bit out loud....

This is absolutely outrageous from former Labour political advisor John McTernan: “We can do to the farmers what Thatcher did to the miners. It’s an industry we could do without. We don’t need small farmers.”

For Remembrance Sunday, to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the Elizabeth Tower is illuminated with poppies and pictures from the 1944 landings. This is in collaboration with the @I_W_M

Everything, literally they have everything in common. This is why the entire premise of their podcast is a farce - they have the same worldview, same opinions, same politics and same ideas.

What do these TWO have in common?

Spot on. I have written to the Permanent Secretary of the Treasury over the Government’s consistent use of misleading claims relating to their National Insurance hike. Labour promised not to raise NICs and they did. They should be honest about that.

Seriously? I know this was in the Red Book. And I'm no expert on rules covering what government depts can/cannot say. But at best this is dubious. And that's being generous. Increasing NI was the central tax raising measure in the Budget. What is the point in pushing this line?

🌾Labour’s #FamilyFarmTax must be reversed. It targets family farms, threatens food security and impacts rural employment & communities. I’ve written a letter to the Chancellor, signed by over 100 MPs, Lords & industry groups calling on the Government to reverse this cut.

It’ll come as no surprise that I didn’t receive a single straight answer from the Prime Minister during my first #PMQs this afternoon. Whether it’s giving away the Chagos Islands, supporting reparations or making offensive comments about the President of the United States……

Great to take part in annual #IPTPoppyride with @morton_wendy and to get 3rd place...for about 10 minutes! @indparltrust #IPTPoppyRide

It’s disappointing that the Home Secretary Yvette Cooper has given eight broadcast interviews this morning - including FOUR to BBC programmes - but not found any time to speak to @GBNEWS on issues that our viewers care about, like the small boats crisis. “Home Secretary Yvette…

Why is there a bust of Weizmann at @ManchesterUniv? Weizmann, a senior lecturer in biochemistry, contributed significantly to the Allies’ victory in WW1. He devised a novel method of acetone production, acetone being a key component in the production of the smokeless gunpowder…

BREAKING: Palestine Action abduct sculptures of Israel’s first president, Chaim Weizmann, from the University of Manchester. Weizmann secured the Balfour Declaration, a British pledge written 107 years ago, which began the ethnic cleansing of Palestine by signing the land away.

Kemi Badenoch is one of the most nasty & divisive figures in British politics. From downplaying racism to Islamophobic remarks like "not all cultures are equally valid" & questioning why Sadiq Khan gets a “free pass” for being Muslim, her election marks a shift to the far-right.

It is an honour and a privilege to have been elected to lead our great Conservative Party. A party that I love, that has given me so much. I’d also like to pay tribute to @RobertJenrick who fought a great campaign. I have no doubt he will have a key role to play in our party…

When I applied to university, I was told the odds were against me—only 14% of care leavers make it to university. Now I'm in my 2nd year at Oxford, despite the odds. If you're a care experienced student applying to university, you CAN do this ♥️ #NationalCareLeaversWeek

This hasn't aged well... Yesterday Labour hid a 4.6% rail fare hike in the small print - an ABOVE inflation increase, while ours was pinned to RPI. And if 3.8% is brutal, what does that make their 50% increase on bus fares...

🚌🚄Today the Tories have announced a brutal fare hike for millions of passengers. Rail and bus fares have now risen almost twice as fast as wages since the Tories came to power. People across the country are paying the price of decisions made in Downing Street.
