A welcome move but the UK doesn't have to wait for the UNSC to agree action in the face of Russian and Chinese opposition. @JamesCleverly can act now to sanction aviation fuel and the military controlled Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise.

We have called for @UN Security Council to meet on the #Myanmar military’s airstrike on a village hall where school children were dancing. More than 130 people are dead - the deadliest attack since the coup. This massacre is against international law and totally indefensible.

1/5 A 14-year-old girl was killed and at least four local civilians injured after the junta forces from Infantry Battalions LIB 545 conducted indiscriminate firing at the villages in Kyone Doe areas, #Kawkareik, according to the emergency response group in the region.

Mu Traw District – Airstrike Incident On January 13th 2023, at 3:19 pm, an SAC fighter jet dropped two bombs in an airstrike in Hsa Law Puh village, Lu Thaw Township. The airstrike completely destroyed a house, a rice barn, and a washroom. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar

At the time, a villager was herding his buffalos and was hit by shrapnel on his chest, neck and thigh. He was killed on the spot. The deceased villager is survived by his wife and eight children. With his death, the family is facing difficulties to secure their livelihood.

Breaking News Yesterday, SAC air bombed Lay Wah village in Pay Kay v/t, Lu Thaw t/s, Mu Traw (Hpapun), killing five civilians, incl. a 2 y.o. and injured 2 more. Much infrastructure destroyed, incl. its Middle School, although no students killed/ wounded.

1/4 Most villagers who fled because of a three-week intensifying conflict in southern Kyainnseikyi areas have not been able to return to their homes until now. They still in need of humanitarian assistance, according to a Service Provider member operating in the areas.
