The #CRTC is asking for comments on the @CAB_ACR's proposal for a commercial radio news fund to support news programming outside of major markets. CAB president @KevinDesjardins discussed the fund's significance in an interview with The Wire Report: thewirereport.ca/2024/11/05/crt…

Was so pleased to be joined by our members and other industry colleagues at CAB’s Broadcasters on the Hill reception last night. A great opportunity to connect in person after a very eventful year. (Just off camera are all of my friends, laughing at my joke.)

As we mark the beginning of #SmallBusinessWeek, we proudly acknowledge the small and medium-sized broadcasters that are members of the CAB. They strengthen Canada's media diversity and enrich the communities they serve, acting as local pillars of culture and information.

This is utterly mendacious. There is no "streaming tax". The foreign streaming giants simply want to take billions out of Canada and give a pittance back, while sticking Canadian broadcasters with all of the obligations to support Canadian Content.

Today, DIMA launched a campaign to #ScrapTheStreamingTax. Read more about our position and the thoughts of DIMA President and CEO, Graham Davies, below. dima.org/news-and-resou…

Very sad to learn of the passing of a true legend of Canadian sports media. Dutchy was a trusted and reliable part of Canadian sports fans' lives, and someone whose enthusiasm and joy came through our screens nightly. My thoughts are with his colleagues, friends and family today.

TSN is mourning the loss of our friend and beloved SportsCentre host Darren Dutchyshen.

Such a great experience to meet with CAB members and others at the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters annual conference. The passion of the people in broadcasting for their work and their connection to their communities is inspiring.

#SemaineSC2024

As we've seen recently, radio has played a critical role in keeping Canadians informed during natural disasters including fires and tropical storms. Even when power grids or mobile networks go out, our members have stayed on the air to keep their communities informed.

It’s Emergency Preparedness Week! Canada’s private broadcasters are go-to sources for by-the-minute reporting in emergencies. ✅ Be sure to include a battery-powered or wind-up #radio in your #emergencykit to ensure you keep informed. #EPWeek2024 #ReadyforAnything
