The embargo is lifted. Apologies to every author/editor who will now have to rewrite every science & Irish history book. New evidence reveals that Irish Potato Famine was caused by the virus Potato virus X & not the oomycete Phytophthora infestans, rewriting science & history

AsiaBlight is fighting back! Late blight disease stifles production. In China, smallholder potato farmers lose millions of potential income due to this pathogen‘s effects cipotato.org/blog/asiabligh… #AsiaBlight #CCCAP

It was a pleasure to meet China Agricultural University students, talk about CIP’s work and the need to effectively communicate science. Received some great questions from students from Pakistan, Nigeria, China etc. Thanks CAU!

14,000 #potato seeds were labeled and will collect trait data, and then to select the best potato for the market. The best ones will have #DNA extracted and tested for the traits that we cannot see. All of this valuable work is done in partnership with #HeibeiNorthUniversity.
