Always been interested by volcanoes and sciences since a kid. Then in 2014 I suffered from a big depression in highschool because of my grades and not feeling intelligent enough to go in sciences. This make me try suicide aaaaaand… Holurhaun eruption happened ! 1/2

Geoscientists- why did you originally choose to study geology/earth science? I did because I fell in love with volcanoes during A-level Geography, and grew up in Cornwall and loved the landscapes...

Preliminary glass data from the #2023svartsengi eruption! The ongoing eruption north of Hagafell, although more evolved, has a similar composition to the late erupted lavas from Fagradalsfjall. Glass MgO and K2O/TiO2 are of 6.0 wt% and 0.24, respectively.
