The police academy is full of new experiences. Officers Wehmeyer and Cameron completed air ambulance training as part of their basic training at KLETC. They learned how to set up a landing zone and communicate effectively with the crew to coordinate landings and patient care.
On Friday, Christopher McAloon took the next step of his law enforcement career, swearing his oath as a Police Officer with the KU Police Department. Officer McAloon will complete in-house training before attending fourteen weeks of basic training at the KLETC.

Due to heavy rains, water is covering roadways in many locations around town and campus. Do not drive through flooded streets to avoid being stranded. Pictures is Bob Billings Parkway behind our office at 9:55am.
KUPD is conducting a series of active shooter exercises at the Burge Union today (June 24). People in the area may see police officers with tactical gear moving around the building, and may hear simulated gunshots or yelling in the building. Gray-Little Hall and CDPG are open.
