A reminder that streets around the Cross of Sacrifice at King St W and Barrie St will be closed for Remembrance Day ceremonies until approximately 12:00 pm. That includes King St between Lower University and West, Barrie between King and Union, and Bagot between Barrie and West.

3. Queen's Band Parade - taking a more circuitous route from 1:30pm to 2:30pm through Queen's Campus & neighbouring streets south of Union St due to construction projects, to get to Richardson Stadium. Please take alternate routes, practice patience, & let's make it a safe day.

2. Shriners Parade - mainly affecting Sir John A. Macdonald Blvd, Union St, Willingdon Ave, Johnson St, and Alfred St from 1pm to 3pm as it makes its way to City Park.

FYI - the @KP_TrafficUnit, along with our community volunteers, will be escorting the Celtic Fire Memorial Ride, coming into Kingston today from Cobourg. Around 3:30 pm we’ll be leading them east along Bath Rd to @KtownFire Station 6 on Palace Rd. Be aware and support.

If possible please avoid King St between Sir John A. Macdonald Blvd and Barrie St as we continue to push through the last of the vehicles from the Queen’s Move-In Day. Traffic is very congested and motorists will be delayed. Consider Brock/Johnson or Princess as alternatives.

FYI - as Hydro One relocates utility poles to widen roads at the intersection of Gardiners & Centennial/Creekford, expect temporary delays. Specifically, east & west traffic will be halted at times as spans and wires need to be moved across Centennial & Creekford.

We continue to receive complaints from the residents and management of the apartment buildings on Village Dr. Some commuters are carelessly using the parking lot as a thoroughfare between Montreal St and the Waaban Crossing. Do not enter if not a tenant or guest.

The value of random breath testing. The driver of the pickup truck denied drinking but then under demand provided a roadside breath sample, blowing a Caution. Driver’s licence seized, suspended for 3 days, family attended to drive the truck, plus charged for plate not authorized.

RIDE program happening today in the afternoon. People still drive impaired in the middle of the day. Two people denied drinking but random breath testing proved they had been. #DriveSober #ArriveAlive #PlanAhead
