From Tamale to London! @BarbicanCentre adorned in beautiful batakari fabric by the talented @ibrahim_mahama The intimate scale of hand-dying, -weaving, -stitching contrasts with the Barbican’s mammoth scale: 2000 sq meters of cloth, over 100 batakari smocks - mind boggling!

This is fabulous & so worth a look! @ibrahim_mahama has wrapped @BarbicanCentre facade in pink cloth handwoven by hundreds of Ghanaian weavers & seamstresses & covered with traditional Ghanaian robes ( Batakaris). Stunning from a distance & up close too! #PurpleHibiscus #Unravel

The burden of history can be a difficult one to carry particularly within a society which is living without the memory of time. A century apart and the human condition hasn’t changed much. #theburdenofhistory #time #ibrahimmahama #thegoldcoast #northernghana #ghana
