Always a pleasure to have @stephen_kelman join us! Some fantastic and thoughtful questions asked too. The boys gain so much from your visits: thank you.

We have launched our monthly Well Being Newsletter. It is an important conversation, especially in the current situation. We will be exploring this in form time to encourage our boys to talk about their feelings more. sway.office.com/7nBvk4mwdqjXMp…

We are all feeling very tired by the end of each day, but it is great to see the lads learning together, socialising and providing the buzz back to our school.

Cells are the smallest living units that are capable of reproducing themselves. What's the poetic equivalent? A word? A stanza? Rhythm or rhyme? Or maybe a whole poem, re-printed, re-read and recited over time? Find the connections - enter the challenge: bit.ly/HCAchallenge

Wonder how many of our staff, students and parents are feeling a little bit of this today 🤔 #remotelearning #remoteteaching #WFH

Word of the day is 'arsle': a 19th-century verb meaning to make no progress whatsoever on a job in hand - literally, to 'shuffle backwards'.

What an absolutely incredibly moving poem! Take a listen. We may do a lesson on this as part of our unseen poetry. #poetry #Inauguration2021 #poem #WOW

Etymology of the week: 'inauguration' began with the Roman 'augur', who studied the behaviour of birds for omens about important events. To inaugurate was to 'consecrate by augury' if the signs were good. The bird-diviner was also known as an 'auspex', hence 'auspicious'.

We hope you are enjoying the holidays so far. This care home is looking for people to write to their residents - they have been in lockdown since March and will be until at least September. Why not get involved? Let us know if you do! facebook.com/37629037644583…
