Every morning, even throughout winter when there isn't much light at the start of their shift, the crew carry out 'challenge &response' checks. These rigorous daily checks ensure all medical equipment & supplies are working & ready to go once tasked. @NIAS999
Since the inception of HEMS in July 2017, the crew have been called out 4,013 times🚨🚁 Throughout 2023 the medical team was tasked to 662 incidents throughout the province. #PoweredByYourDonations @NIAS999

Day 9 of the 12 days of Christmas. Each day people phone 999 for help amidst an emergency & trained control room operators from the @NIAS999 speak to people in need of urgent medical interventions & make key decisions on the most appropriate resource to send to the casualty 🚑🚁
Day 2 of the 12 days of Christmas 🤩 We have 2 helicopters 🚁 the primary aircraft is an AW109S Grand and the dedicated backup aircraft is an AW109E Power. Having a backup aircraft allows for minimal downtime caused by maintenance demands.
