Students from our French Home Language club were delighted to get to try some French 'madeleines' to celebrate 'World Food Day' this week. C'était délicieux! Merci to Marianne, our French parent-volunteer who helps support this wonderful EPA 🇫🇷👏 #sparkcommunity
Y3 students from both French groups met today & read their 'introduction postcards' to each other. They told each other their name, their age, where they live & they explained what they like (and dislike) doing in their free time - all in French! Bravo tout le monde 🇫🇷👏
Ms Chong & Ms Mok Y6 Mandarin classes had a great time interviewing each other today. They asked their friends questions about themselves in Mandarin and had to listen attentively to the replies. They took notes and will write a short presentation about their friend next lesson.
In their Home Language Mandarin EPA, our native Mandarin speakers learnt more about the origin of the Mid-Autumn festival & discussed different ways of celebrating (e.g: festival food of course!). They enjoyed creating & decorating their unique festival fans! 🇨🇳 #sparkcommunity
After learning about the Mid-Autumn festival in their Mandarin lessons, Y1 and Y3 students enjoyed creating their own playdough mooncakes, as well as decorating them. We hope that everybody who celebrates had a good Mid-Autumn festival! #SparkCuriosity #SparkCommunity
Y9 students came to visit us this morning! They introduced new languages to Y2/4/5/6, who thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being taught by older students. There was a lot of energy around all the Languages classrooms -thank you Y9 & thank you @KLASS_EP_Lang! #sparkcuriosity
Y3 students thoroughly enjoyed their Languages Fashion Shows today, where they described what they wore in Bahasa, Mandarin and French. Here are a few pics from one of the #French fashion shows! #sparkinspiration
Puan Linda's Y3 Bahasa students have enjoyed learning their 'Lagu Cuci Baju' song as part of their current 'Fabulous Fashion' clothes unit. Bagus Year 3! 🇲🇾👍 youtube.com/watch?v=o1X4D8…
We had fun playing ‘pétanque’ in #French club today! Our JB team might be ready for the Olympics soon 😉🇫🇷💪🏼 #sparkinspiration #sparkcuriosity
Y5 students have thoroughly enjoyed helping Alice Smith go up to third position in our current Education Perfect Global Championships. A bit less than 24 hours to go til the end of the competition, good luck everyone! #sparkinspiration #WeAreKLASS @epforlearning
Today Pn Rasidah took some of our Y6 students to SKJB, the school next door to JB. SKJB kindly invited us to their Hari Raya celebration -it was a perfect opportunity for our students to learn more about Malaysian traditions & to practise their BM speaking skills! #sparkcommunity
To celebrate Earth Day, each member of our department was in charge of a particular letter. Altogether, we formed a word that conveys a very important message for our students and for our planet: #recycle ♻️ #sparkinspiration #sparkteamwork #sparkcommunity
Thank you to Puan Linda for organising the Hari Raya photobooth, it has proved extremely popular today! We miss you on the photo though Puan Linda 🫶 We'll post another team photo with all of us on World Book Day! #sparkcommunity #sparkinspiration
Well done to Puan Linda's Y6 dancers and to Puan Rasidah's and Puan Chong's Y6 choral speakers for their excellent performances in assembly today! @AliceSmithSch #sparkbelonging #sparkcommunity
We were treated to some beautiful musical performances in our Hari Raya assembly today. Thank you very much @KLASS_JBMusic for our wonderful collaboration! #sparkbelonging #sparkcommunity @AliceSmithSch
Lovely work from Year 5 who have just finished their 'Spectacular School' unit. They have learnt how to talk about school timings and about their favourite subjects. They have practised giving their opinions and also discussing reasons for their preferences. Excellent work Y5! 💪
Y3 students have been practising their conversational skills very successfully! After learning how to interact in a restaurant in Term 2a, they moved on to how to interact in a shop this half-term. They have focused on their pronunciation & have learnt what 'intonation' means🥳👏
DIY and professional green-screening in my film-making club. Students are loving it! Thanks @DoInkTweets 🎥🟢
Have you heard of Choral Speaking? It's quite common in Malaysian schools & is often done by a group of students who use various voice combinations & contrasts to bring out the tonal beauty of a passage of poetry or prose. Our Y6s were practising today... Can you guess what for?
