🎉 New paper published! 🎉 Carlo Geraci and I conducted a study on phonological contrast in LSF and SL feature inventory, now available as open access in Phonology @CambridgeCore! 🙌 Want to know more? Check it out here: cambridge.org/core/journals/…
We are very grateful for a fantastic week at @issp2024 in Autrans, discussing our research with a great community! We are back home full of new input and ideas 💡 #issp2024 To learn more, check out our proceedings papers: issp24.sciencesconf.org/resource/page/… (starting pages 26, 73, 125 & 234)

Very nice article from @PopSci about our work on computational phylogenies of sign languages. 🙂
New in @sciencemagazine, and featuring one line that I hope will have its due impact from being in this venue: “Access to sign language is critical for the development of deaf children and for the inclusion and equity of deaf people in society.” science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
Exciting news! With @JustineMertz, we recorded our first deaf participant with #EMA to investigate #coarticulation in French Sign Language (#LSF), and it looks really promising! Now it’s time for the analyses of the #kinematics of #signs. Stay tuned!
📢New lab member! @JustineMertz joined our lab as a #postdoc for two years and will use electromagnetic articulography (EMA) to capture sign language #coarticulation. Great to have you here! 🙂 #signlanguage #kinematics
Interested in doing a PhD? We are looking for highly motivated students to join our multidisciplinary team with an interest in language, cognition and/or the brain from the unique perspective of deafness & deaf communication 1/2
Can theory-based models be used as reliable measures to assess overall articulatory complexity in sign language? Yes, argues a new #LabPhon study of French Sign Language, by @JustineMertz, @BeatriceGi & colleagues. #openaccess #phonologicalcomplexity #LSF doi.org/10.16995/labph…
Thanks to all the speakers and participants, and of course the interpreters for their INCREDIBLE job!! A special BRAVO goes to @HauserCharlotte who organized and coordinated the whole conference and made #FEAST2020 happened. Thank you!!
What a conference! Three days of amazing presentations and posters on SL linguistics. Thanks to the presenters and the organizing committee, I had a great time and learnt so much!! #FEAST2020
The program of the Teaching Exchange of #AnimalLinguistics, #TEALParis, hosted by @ENS_ULM (Paris, 23-27 March 2020) is out!🎉 Keep calm, read this thread ⬇️ and register to the event! sites.google.com/view/animallin…
The #TEALParis will also cover other aspects of #AnimalLinguistics that are gaining more and more attention among the community: body movements! To start with, @JustineMertz and Jeremy Kuhn will introduce you to the linguistics of #gestures and #signs in human language! 👍👌
Dernière minute : la @CiteOiseaux reçoit la médaille d'honneur de la ville de @Paris pour son action, les oiseaux parisiens vous remercient pour votre soutien 😆🐦🌲
#TISLR13 was my first TISLR, and it was an incredible experience for me. Thank you to all the organizers, institutions and sponsors, thank you to all the speakers/poster presenters for your work, and thank you to all the interpreters who were amazing. Thank you!
After presenting my work on LSF phonology, I attended @kemmorey1 presentation about neural and behavioral consequences of lexical iconicity in ASL. What a talk, so exciting! #TISLR13 #ASL #iconicity #signlanguage #SLlinguistics
I am very happy to be in Hamburg for #TISLR13! It is my first TISLR conference and I hope it won't be the last.
Today, in exactly 30min, Carlo Geraci will present our poster "Typological and Historical relations across sign languages: The view from articulatory features" at @Glow42 Do not hesitate to come and ask your questions! #GLOW42 #SignLanguage #signlanguageresearch #SLtypology
