For those contemplating a detox or cleanse in the new year, here’s a toxicologist’s explanation of how they work: They don’t.

Friendly note to anyone who parks a-hole close next to a 12 year old banged up car…ask yourself “will this driver make sure their door doesn’t hit mine when they try to squeeze themselves into their car?”. The answer is no, most certainly not 😁.

Dr. Akindele has been a mentor to his colleagues since he arrived in NS. He supported other physicians coming from the UK to help them transition to practice.

After practicing in the United Kingdom for 17 years and now working in Nova Scotia, family physician Dr. Ade Akindele travelled with Nova Scotia Health to a conference in London to recruit physicians to his new home. Learn more: nshealth.ca/news/after-pra…

Study finds new doctors working as hard as previous generation. "The complexity of medicine is just so much higher than in previous years & it means that those 15-min appointments that used to work don't really work anymore in family medicine:" buff.ly/3PnORY1 via @CBCNS

Reluctant public service word. If you're in ER bc u have flu, a cold, mild covid or other mild symptoms. Regardless of wait time, u dont auto get antibiotics. A virus goes away with time, fluids,+ advil. Educate friends/fam. ER for emergency. Couch for cold. #healthcare

Staying home from my ringette game tonight because I’m still coughing. Several others on the team are sick too. One teammate noted that 15/17 of the children on her child’s sports team is out with viral illnesses as well. Please stay home when you’re sick.

"We have to consider not just the risk of the viruses themselves, like influenza and RSV, but just by having the sheer numbers all at once, it’s something that’s overwhelming the health-care system," says our president @DrLeisha: buff.ly/3UVlUo2 via @HaliJohnMcPhee
