Tennessee fell 4 spots after BEATING Florida at home in OT. Ohio State fell 4 spots after LOSING to 6-win Michigan at home as 3 TD favorites. Something doesn’t add up @CFBPlayoff 🧐

I didn’t think the committee could get any worse from last season… I was dead wrong… SMU at 8 is a travesty. South Carolina at 14 is absurd. OSU losing to an awful team FOR THEIR SECOND LOSS and being 6 is criminal. The committee project has failed. What’s next?

Fucking horseshit. OSU has the same record as us, with their loss to a 20 point underdog coming at home, THREE DAYS AGO, but they’re one spot ahead of us for what?? For beating Indiana?

If you switch Ohio State and Tennessee and the Vols lose at home to a 20-point underdog, absolutely no way on this or any other planet they only drop four spots. Anyone who believes otherwise is being disingenuous.

Saying that the Michigan and Arkansas losses cancel each other out is incredibly narrow-minded and shows that you don’t think home vs. away in losses means anything. Ohio States two “Top 10” wins have 1 combined ranked win. The Big 10 is a joke outside of Oregon.

It’s not crazy.

While it isn’t likely, the path to 9-3 and being in the College Football Playoff isn’t crazy for Kentucky This is how they would do it

This positive feedback loop is a B1G bias. And it all starts with last year's national champion: Michigan. Michigan came in ranked #9. But they finished 7-5 and unranked. However, along the way, each of Michigan's 5 losses were resume builders for the other team because…

This whole thread is exactly why preseason rankings should go die in a hole.

If SMU & BYU just had the name recognition bias of OSU, PSU, or ND… then BYU’s win over SMU would look more like Ohio State’s win over PSU. BYU and SMU would enter the positive feedback loop, and the committee would justify them both as top 10. If BYU was a two-loss top 10…

The only reason SMU is not in the top 5 like Penn state/Notre Dame is because their loss is to BYU isn’t top 10 (like Penn states loss to Ohio State). But BYU isn’t top 10 because their best win (@ SMU) isn’t top 5 like Ohio states win at Penn state. Thats the negative feedback…

Oh ya, Penn state is #3 because their only loss is to Ohio State, who is ranked #7. But why is Ohio state is ranked #7? Oh yeah, because their best win eats against POWERHOUSE Penn state, who is ranked #3! There’s your positive feedback loop!* *just ignore Ohio States loss…

And Penn States best win is against Illinois, who, at 3 losses, is ranked 21. Illinois lost to Penn State, got smoked by Oregon, and lost to a mediocre Minnesota (the 8th best team in the B1G) Illinois also barelyy beat Rutgers, Kansas, Nebraska, and Purdue. They had a good…

Ohio State’s best win is against Penn state. And the only reason that’s considered a marque win is because Penn state is ranked #3! But why is Penn state ranked #3? What have they done that another school, say SMU, hasn’t? Penn state looks good because their only loss is to…

Ohio State cannot lose to a horrendous Michigan team at home and still get to host a playoff game. Neyland Stadium is THE premiere atmosphere and a perfect representation of the essence of College Football. If the committee can’t see that they’re making a huge mistake.

All I know is if Tennessee had 3 losses we would be in the Poptart Gofuckyourself bowl

Michigan lost every single road game they played this season....except at Ohio State

Joshy Knoxville Reposted

A loss on the road at night as a 13 point favorite on Oct 5. Or a loss at home as a 20 point favorite 2 days ago. They are not the same.

Joshy Knoxville Reposted

"cancel each other out" ?!?! Absolutely not - One was away, one was at home - One was Oct 5th, one was last Saturday How can you say these are the same?

Agree with you. I don't think it's even close. The Michigan/Arkansas losses cancel each other out and the rest of OSU's resume is much better.
