From when the 2022 Jordan Estate Assyrtiko was released and tasted at various industry events since July 22 it has evolved into a wine typical of Santorini's island-style - floral citrus aromas with a minerally & saline finish & a texture and acidity screaming for Cape seafood
In 20 years' time, it will be fascinating to see how history determines who was the first SA producer to take Assyrtiko to market. @Jordan_Wines, having established the first motherblock, showed their maiden 2022 today...
Jordan was awarded the Trophy for White Wine Producer of the Year. Kanonkop was awarded the Trophy for Red Wine Producer on the Year. It is truly wonderful that these awards went to two South African 🇿🇦 wine estates and even more incredible, two Stellenbosch wine estates!
