This should be a national scandal, an island nation with a tiny Navy, utterly ridiculous

Lost by @RoyalNavy 2022-24 Albion, Bulwark (LPDs); Trenchant, Talent (SSNs) Westminster, Argyll, Northumberland, Montrose (frigates); Echo, Enterprise (Survey Vessels) Shoreham, Grimsby, Penzance, Pembroke (MCMVs); Wave Knight, Wave Ruler, Tiderace (Tankers) Fort Victoria (RFA).

Turns out I wasn’t a million miles off, utter madness at a time when the world is facing so many conflicts but sadly with freeing issues this was more or less inevitable. My surprise is that both Waves are to be scrapped, short sighted politicians prevail again.

Move one to lower readiness, operate one carrier at a time, increase escort availability, resolve RFA pay/conditions, move all F35B to RN/FAA with RAF getting a new batch of Typhoon. Sell/scrap Albion, Bulwark, Fort Vic and one Wave, other forward deployed to Indo-Pacific.

Underlying cause of RFA woes is the poor treatment of its sailors and the major lack in investment in ships over the last decade. The RN is diminished by a failing RFA, yet another UKG seems to have missed that, this could be an easy win but nothing, just more stalling.

Thousands of Dutch locals surround the full perimeter of the Airborne Cemetery, commemorating the 80th anniversary of Operation Market Garden. The Dutch have been immense all week. They have turned up in droves at every event. They do this every year. Incredible people. 🇳🇱🇬🇧
