Thank you Pradeep for your support and advice for this project🙏😃 We’re thrilled to introduce DiscoDivas, a new method designed to generate Polygenic Risk Scores (PRS) for diverse espcially admixed populations 1/

Current polygenic risk scores require binning of ancestry groups but we know ancestry is a continuum. Our study led by @Yunfeng_Ruan introduces DiscoDivas, a new generalizable PRS framework across the ancestry spectrum medrxiv.org/content/10.110… @medrxivpreprint @PRSdiversity

Agreed! That's why I wrote ggpubfigs, a ggplot2 extension that *only colorblind-friendly color palettes. Easily make your figures colorblind-friendly with ggpubfigs! x.com/NKWhiteman/sta…

A reminder that your search committee chair, grant proposal reviewers, and manuscript reviewers might be among the 1/12 XY or 1/200 XX who can’t see what you think is obvious in your figures because they have a color vision deficiency. Adobe tools, many papers on the topic, etc.

I know this is a funny satire, but there is no reason you would see variation on the Y particularly, there would be a considerable risk of rare event bias, and this would be brutally underpowered.

Having referred to it a few times this week, here is a (IMO) slightly more user friendly derivation of the LD-score regression estimator of heritability and its assumptions: gusevlab.org/projects/hsq/l…

Excited to share our latest manuscript in @NatureGenet! Utilizing high-resolution genetic data imputed with a population-matched reference panel, we uncovered causal genetic variants for a wide range of human traits over 200K participants from Japan (1/20) nature.com/articles/s4158…
