There’s an unusually strong polar vortex above Antarctica at the moment. So, what does this mean for Australia’s weather as we head into summer? Full story at bit.ly/36ubLak

Riverina is conducting a blind survey as to the outcome of 20/21 winter sowing program. Results will be in Riverina's weekly market report available via riverina.com.au or you can request the results specific to your region surveymonkey.com/r/5D2LCQ5

With the 20/21 winter crop program well under way, I’m looking for grain growers with excellent data management to participate in a 12 month crop forecasting trial, in return you'll get a customised weekly crop forecast and a monthly localised S&D report. DM me if interested

Let this sink in for a moment. “Dr Julie Delforce, the director of Ag productivity & food security for the Dept of Foreign Affairs & Trade, co-owns Sozo Production, which has shared the same PO box as Aussie Farms across three states, since 2014.” weeklytimesnow.com.au/news/national/…

My open letter to the non ag community. We need to engage in order to educate. And we need to reach outside the ag bubble to be effective.

AU #grains 'Still off track' - Low incoming soil moisture, no widespread autumn break & a less than favourable outlook for GSR mean many areas will be feeling like its "deja vu all over again" while WA is looking at a step down from 18/19. research.rabobank.com/far/en/sectors…

Have just been informed by @DeptAgNews that two more shipments of a Canadian whole wheat - bound for Australia have been approved. That is now three shipments approved for import into Australia.

Our #ENSO outlook has decreased to #ElNiño WATCH, meaning there's now about a 50% chance (still double the normal chance) of El Niño forming this year. In the Indian Ocean, meanwhile, a positive #IndianOceanDipole (IOD) is possible from next month: ow.ly/90Bz50uaz4C

@LuthWorldRelief has the required field & community connections needed to access timely field data @NASAHarvest can use to train and validate satellite observations. The early warning community can access these data (both field & satellite) to ensure timely & appropriate response

Our #ENSO Outlook has been lowered to #ElNiño WATCH, with recent observations & climate model outlooks suggesting the immediate risk of El Niño has passed. However, there remains an increased likelihood that El Niño will develop later in 2019: ow.ly/W2cU30noRIU

See a remarkable first-hand history of the first GE corn and how @GreenpeaceCA played a reluctant role in the early days of the anti-GMO movement. Farming would be so different today if their anti-industry bias had not blinded them. tdaynard.com/2018/12/27/why… via @TerryDaynard
