Today is the day! The PM foundations Bootcamp by Mentor Mesh is officially open for registration! Seats are very limited and classes start on June 13. This is not your traditional bootcamp. Part-time and remote friendly. I'll be your head coach.👇 #productmanagement #career

Great list Jen! There is such a barrier to getting your foot in the door.

One of the hardest parts of breaking into product is finding an opportunity for someone to bet on you. Entry-level roles that require minimum direct product experience or open to adjacent experience is one way. This week’s round up of APM + PM Intern roles:

11 Promises from a Manager: a 🧵 1. We’ll have a weekly 1:1. I’ll never cancel this meeting, but you can cancel it whenever you like. It’s your time.

Hopefully someone looking for a project management role will see this. Reach out to Emily!

Keep going!

Not sure who needs to hear this but keep going. It took 3 years of rejections for me to finally pivot from Retail Management to Product Management in 2020. I didn’t have “technical experience”. I didn’t have a college degree. But I also didn’t give up.

Excited to continue my journey to product management as part of the Spring ‘22 cohort of the IPMA program @UW 🥳

Being proactive, resourceful and coming up with solutions are underrated skills & it’s hard to find folks with these skills.

Problem solving will get you further in your career than knowing the exact specifics of a tool or programming language. Building up problem solving skills comes with experience and encountering issues with tasks and solving business problems.

Building great products is not like math. You can’t framework your way into a successful product. If you could we wouldn’t have so many trash products in this world.

Does anyone want to be my partner? 😊

we all suffer from imposter syndrome at work - one of the biggest instances for me when switching into PM was product vision a 🧵on “instincts”

I’ve been doing a lot of interviews lately (hiring PMs for my team), and all the phone screens reminded of how much I enjoy a good back and forth. I’m especially a fan of open-ended, multi-layered, tangent-spawning questions that can fill up the allotted time. 🧵

Polite but revealing questions to ask in a PM job interview to understand culture and fit (and their literal translations…). A thread 🧵 #prodmgmt
