I love sports romances, so when I saw this call for submissions from @cupidsarrowpub (the deadline was extended to August 31), I knew I had to give it a shot. Here’s hoping they like my story! 🌟⚽️ cupidsarrowpublishing.com/submissions/da…

Captain Burnham and her crew traveled to the Eternal Gallery and Archive in the “Labyrinths” episode of Star Trek: Discovery. It made me so happy to know they used an actual rare book library as their set! 📚

Fun fact: this week's episode of #StarTrekDiscovery was filmed in the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library, the largest public repository of rare books in Canada!

Had a truly wonderful and memorable time at this year’s SNCA (@NCArchivists) Annual Meeting! I learned so much from my peers in the field. I can’t wait to bring some of these ideas back to the Central Piedmont Archives!

I’m headed off to the SNCA (@NCArchivists) Annual Meeting hosted by the State Archives (@NCArchives) in Raleigh, NC. I’m looking forward to presenting with my colleague and displaying my poster!

A few days late in posting about it here, but the @Cornell_Library featured me in one of their posts! I’m proud and happy to support the library system that literally changed my life. 📚✨ Find it here: instagram.com/p/C4hCVeFgyif/…

It’s one of my favorites. I wish I was in NYC to see this in person.

It’s hard to imagine anything but adoration for "Flaming June"—and indeed it triumphed in 1895 when it was first exhibited! But its moment in the sun was fleeting. ⁣ How did this iconic, now-beloved work of art nearly fall into obscurity? ⁣ Explore the rise, fall, and…

I’m watching the limited series #Bodies on Netflix and loved the part when the archive and its historical records play a role in connecting the pieces together. 🗃️📜

I can’t believe we’re down to the last few days of the year! I’m taking this time to reflect on what I’ve accomplished in 2023 and what I’m hoping to accomplish in the new year. linkedin.com/posts/johnamar…

I *love* DigitalNC. I was using it this past weekend to gather newspaper clippings for a presentation I’m doing on the public library system in Charlotte for an upcoming History Club meeting. It’s such a wonderful resource!

42 newspapers that live in the @NCCollection and were never microfilmed have now been scanned and are on DigitalNC! Check out all the titles on our blog today! Many of the papers digitized fill in holes that exist in the microfilmed record. digitalnc.org/blog/42-newspa…

Listening to #Case63, a science fiction podcast starring Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac, on Spotify. In season 2, episode 3, the character Oliver Collins reveals he’s a mechanical engineer and earned a degree from Cornell. Brought a smile to my face when he said that. @CREarle
