My article 'Employment Status and Human Rights: An Emerging Approach' has just been published in the Modern Law Review. I argue for a presumption in favour of employment status where human rights are at stake, and that this is required by the HRA: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.111…

Delighted to announce my promotion to father of two boys. Bring on the chaos!

New pub @NTWEjournal In this paper, I confront the 'Deus Ex Machina' of algorithmic management in the aluminium sector and show how workers and unions can contest such changes. Workplace regime and union power matter on the shopfloor. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

Good thread. The idea that most people choose their degree and careers based (solely) on maximising income is bizarre. So why judge university courses using only that metric?

So, Conservatives pledge to increase apprenticeships by 100k by cutting 1 in 8 degrees. I feel a little thread is in order.

Registration is now live for the launch of my and @DrPMCollins report on 'Algorithmic Management and a New Generation of Rights at Work'! 6th June in London: eventbrite.co.uk/e/workers-righ… We are looking into making it a hybrid event, so let me know if there is demand for that.

Looking forward to having enough free time to read these excellent looking papers. So that'll be somewhere between 2025 and never

Delighted that the special issue of the Journal of Applied Philosophy on "Egalitarianism & the Future of Work" (ed. Markus Furendal, Huub Brouwer, & Willem van der Deijl) has now been published. As you can see from the contents page, it has a fantastic cast of contributors. 1/4
