A new petition to ban driven grouse shooting from Wild Justice was published just a few moments ago. I'd love you to read it and then sign it please petition.parliament.uk/petitions/7000… and then ask a friend...
Great news! We are delighted to have initial support from @HeritageFundUK for Wild Walsall, our ambitious nature recovery and community engagement programme across the landscape of Walsall! #HeritageFund #NationalLottery. bbcwildlife.org.uk/news/birmingha…
it's always a fine time to spot a mandarin duck. this one has been living at perry hall park for months now and he's a beauty (aren't they all?)
pretty in purple, always an absolute treat to spot some amethyst deceivers
We're well into mushroom season and fungi of all shapes, sizes and colours are waiting to be found in parks, gardens, nature reserves and more! Here's a beautiful patch of fly agarics we discovered. Have you spotted any fantastic fungi yet? Do share your pictures with us!
A happy #UKFungusDay to all who celebrate. Noah and I found a whole bunch of fly agarics, but this was our favourite
A happy inaugural #InternationalDayOfBirmingham to all! We can't say it enough - Birmingham is beautiful! Did you know the city has 591 parks and open spaces? We are a city of nature, with wonderful wildlife to discover right on our doorstep, so why not get out and explore!
Nice to find my first ever Parasitic Boletes today, a fungus which only grows on another fungus (the Common Earthball). Not common around these parts, but there was a big group on a little patch of Cannock Chase
Hear from our Conservation Manager, Jake, and our partners @NaturalEngland and @WalsallCouncil about how our Purple Horizons project is working for nature's recovery from Sutton Park to Cannock Chase.
#PurpleHorizons is a fantastic example of what can be achieved with the right partnerships and long-term vision for #NatureRecovery. Watch the video to hear our #NatureRecoveryNetwork partners @WalsallCouncil and @WTBBC talk about the positive impacts of investing in nature. ⬇️

Restore Nature Now: A Green and Pleasant March that Mattered. 350+ organisations, 60,000+ people marching together in the hope of a wilder future. This was important. Read our thoughts about the brilliant, empowering #RestoreNatureNow march: bbcwildlife.org.uk/blog/james-ben…
We were there. Were you? It was our pleasure to march with so many passionate, caring people. They came from all corners; scientists and singers, actors and activists. They go home having sown the seeds of an energised green movement. #RestoreNatureNow theguardian.com/world/article/…
Sometimes all you can do is stand up, speak up and hope others do the same. Yesterday, as many as 100,000 voices spoke as one to say #RestoreNatureNow. If you could not be there yesterday, come with us next time. Change will come when enough of us speak. Add your voice to ours.
If you talk the talk, it's important to walk the walk - and today we march! Our staff, members and supporters have traveled to London to ask our politicians to #RestoreNatureNow. For people and planet, for wildlife and wild spaces, for our future and yours: RESTORE NATURE NOW!
🚨Nature is in crisis. With less than three weeks to go until the general election, now is the time for all of us who care to speak up for the natural world. 👉Use our form to let your Prospective Parliamentary Candidates know that nature matters to you: action.wildlifetrusts.org/page/151056/ac…
Come and march with us in London! Now's the time to speak up for nature. Let's get the natural world on the political agenda. Very limited spaces on a coach from Birmingham city centre alongside my Wildlife Trust colleagues and I: bbcwildlife.org.uk/events/2024-06…
🚨Birmingham and the Black Country, will you march with us for nature? The #RestoreNatureNow march on 22 June in London will be the UK's largest ever gathering for climate and nature. We have arranged coach transport to and from the event. March with us: bbcwildlife.org.uk/events/2024-06…
