اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ Show us the straight path,
﴿أَمَّن يَهْدِيكُمْ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ﴾ He [not best] who guides you through the darknesses of the land and sea?
﴿وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيًا وَنَصِيرًا﴾ But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.
﴿وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ﴾ and You we ask for help.
﴿وَأَمْرُهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ ۖ ﴾ and his affair rests with Allah.
أَتَأْمُرُونَ النَّاسَ بِالْبِرِّ وَتَنْسَوْنَ أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ تَتْلُونَ الْكِتَابَ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ Enjoin ye righteousness upon mankind while ye yourselves forget (to practise it)? And ye are readers of the Scripture! Have ye then no sense?
