Important work by colleagues in NYC, funded by NIDA, to develop pragmatic framework for overdose prevention and response in PSH with critical input from tenants! Need evolution on the harm reduction front to included housing-based supervised consumption and drug checking.

Very proud of the work our team did together with @CSHInfo to develop strategies for overdose prevention in supportive housing, based on input from supportive housing tenants, staff, and leaders. Now published in @JSATjournal authors.elsevier.com/a/1jxwIAUkM2bE… (1/)

Four years ago today, I walked into the apocalypse. Crossing the line in the ER felt like entering a whole other world. Frenetic alarms. Patients strewn about, struggling to breathe. Too few staff. Too many deaths. Covid was everything. It had completely taken over our ER

The MA Senate is voting tomorrow on whether to limit how long families can be in shelter to 9 months, when it takes families on avg 40 months for families to get into housing. Read my piece on why limiting families time in shelter is wrong bostonglobe.com/2024/03/20/opi…

1/Arguing for methadone deregulation, Dr. Ruth Potee notes that in an auditorium of 400 addiction specialists, almost NONE prescribe methadone (because they can't) "Methadone is a miracle drug that no one has access to" There are more people who offer Botox than offer methadone

The ⁦@AMERSA_tweets⁩ plenary debate on methadone deregulation will be *educational* - debate partners Dr Ruth Potee & Denis Antoine III will actually switch sides and t-shirts midway through

Twitter Fam, we’re in a critical period in the fight to legalize OPCs! #MA4OPC campaign created a tool to help people to email their state legislators and recommend that they vote to allow the establishment of OPCs. Take a look: actionnetwork.org/letters/ma4opc…
