Humor should be studied in high school as an elective, like extra language or math courses beyond the minimum required ones. Whether you have a sense of humor or not, to broaden your understanding of what other people can see. 🎭

Excited to share a new paper from an amazing team! We propose a new framework for generating AI-written notes that synthesize multiple existing notes, by maximizing the predicted helpfulness ratings from a simulated jury of users who've disagreed in the past

Theme of the day, spot lazy thinking in the media, and also oneself.

For most of American history the federal government was a land agency responsible for the acquisition of territory, sale of public land, and trusteeship over that territory until such time as it could be admitted as one or more states. After 1912 its purpose was fulfilled.

For most of our country’s history the federal government was funded by tariffs, there was no income tax, the budget was (mostly) balanced, and federal spending was less than 10% of GDP.

Spot lazy thinking, the theme of the day. 🌞

Reviewers take note: 57% of people rejected their own argument when they thought it was someone else's. So take it easy with the criticism.

To solve problems, get close to them. Cutting the waste gets you closer to what's really going on.

Too much bureaucracy = less innovation & higher costs. That’s a real problem with the FDA, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and countless other 3-letter agencies. They are utterly agnostic to how their daily decisions stifle new inventions & impose costs that deter growth.

A PhD student used both Claude and Gemini as an AI therapist. She vented her frustrations around getting a cancer diagnosis, and joked about how much it was costing the healthcare system. The difference in responses is staggering.

Well put

It's a strange country when the GP is begging you to visit for a covid jab, but you can't get an appointment when you're ill. When you can't get the Police out for a theft, yet they're knocking down your door for a tweet...

Like him or not, as @RubinReport said: in any movie to be made one day about this administration @TomHoman_ “should play himself”. 😂 It appears to me he just wants to deport illegal (felon) immigrants *who have broken the law*. No one else. Not *mere* “undocumented migrants”.

Every clip of I see of Tom Homan in hearings and interviews makes me love this man more. Easily the best pick I’ve seen so far for any appointment.

Someday, you'll wish you had paid more attention to the Arctic ❄️🚢

America can't afford to fall behind in the Arctic. As Russia and China continue to strengthen ties, they are gaining a foothold in a region crucial to the future of global security. U.S. readiness in the Arctic must be a priority.
