As a coach, one of the worst things you can do is try to please everyone. There will always be people who aren't happy because of things like your tactics, the amount of game time you give, or your coaching style. Listen, and take feedback on board, but also be yourself.
A good coach can teach technical detail and tactical knowledge. A great coach can do those things, but they can also build confidence, belief, and love for the game. How you can make players think and feel is as important as what you can teach them.

The secret to getting buy-in from most players is showing that you care and have taken an interest in them as a person, as well as a player. It's not hard to do. Take time to ask them questions and learn about them. Then make sure you follow up so they see you've remembered.
So many coaches get obsessed with the level they want to coach at and who they want to coach for. What really matters is that you are enjoying your coaching. If you love what you are doing, it means more than whether you coach for a grassroots team or a professional club.
