The School of Neuroscience is hiring! Have a strong interest in teaching at the collegiate level, working with amazing colleagues and living in a beautiful place? If the answer is yes, check out hokies.dc4.pageuppeople.com/v5.3/provider/…

Excited to share new work from @Kayla_Farrell15 and @JaromeLab where we found that for proteasome subunit RPT6 to regulate transcription during memory formation it requires phosphorylation of the same site that RPT6 uses to regulate the proteasome! jneurosci.org/content/early/…

Fear extinction depends on the #amygdala 🧠. Our 🌟new paper🌟shows this is also true for #females… with one big exception. Once a rat becomes a mum 🤰👩‍👧, she no longer needs the amygdala to extinguish fear. Does just fine without it! doi.org/10.1016/j.nlm.…

Exciting work from @Kayla_Farrell15 where she found that the sex differences in amygdala protein degradation are developmentally regulated, not present until after puberty! Important implications for sex differences in protein degradation and fear memory bsd.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

My lab has an opening for a second research technician examining sex differences in the molecular mechanisms of memory formation. Great opportunity to get intensive research experience! careers.pageuppeople.com/968/cw/en-us/j…

Over the moon about my postdoc work ⁦@ScienceMagazine⁩ ! Ever wonder about how mammalian cells selectively degrade unwanted nuclear proteins without involving ubiquitination? Check out our paper on a non-canonical protein degradation mechanism! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Excited to have this “labor of love” out. Check it out if you’re interested in learning how memory oscillates across the day/night cycle. Spoiler alert: spatial memory in mice is better during the day, even though that’s their inactive phase! Congrats especially to Lauren Bellfy!
