Issue 15 has closed and issue 16 is open journals.biologists.com/jeb/issue/226/… The front cover by @claire_terhune shows a tufted capuchin feeding. @Myra__Laird @PennDentalMed & co discovered that the primates' bite forces and gapes increased with body mass and facial width across ontogeny

High Point University is hiring anatomy teaching fellows for the summer again! This is a great opportunity for any anthropology/anatomy PhD students interested in a career in anatomy. You get a stipend AND housing allowance! I went through the program and can answer any questions

I need a @BlackBoxDownPod update on the 737 Max after watching the Downfall documentary. I’m screeching at this MCAS system all over again.

Y'all want cool stuff with NEATure on it and want to benefit student travel to the Evolution conference? Shop the merch that Simon made! We're talking totes, stickers, posters, and much more with all the colors and a ton of different organisms: redbubble.com/people/asn-gra…

The new season of Bridgerton comes out while we are at the AABAs so I’m considering just not going to Denver?? Who will pretend I’m there for me??

Just discovered #thecasketeers and I’m rediscovering all of the feelings in life

Opened my dissertation for the first time since graduation today to start working on publications and I'm happy to report that I still hate it more than anything in the whole world.

Getting to listen to two back to back philosophy lectures through our paper thin office walls while trying to read has been fun. This guy is ENTHUSIASTIC about teaching via zoom though.

I DON’T KNOW WHAT EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT #DONTLOOKUP IS EXACTLY HOW PEOPLE WOULD REACT TO SCIENTISTS EXPLAINING THE WORLD IS ENDING.

Today I did a task that I’ve been putting off because I didn’t want to revisit what I had in my head as my PhD failures. They weren’t there. It was fine. Do the task you’ve been putting off. This is your sign.

I set out a bowl of candy for the neighborhood kids tonight so that I wouldn’t have to get up from the couch AND THEY TOOK THE WHOLE BOWL. NOT JUST ALL THE CANDY, THE BOWL. It was one of our good ones too! #HappyHalloween2021

Today is the day I'm editing a final draft of my whole dissertation which is awesome and great and cool but today is also the day they are finishing the work in the hallway and it involves sawing metal in half for hours. Talk about stars aligning ✨✨

Feeling immense relief that my dissertation is mostly finished and then remembering that I still have to create the defense presentation 🙃🙃🙃

My #AABA2022 abstract is written and finished 8 days before it’s due so you can all give me my applause whenever you have a free moment.

Y'ALL MERCURY IS IN RETROGRADE DURING THE FINAL WEEKS I HAVE TO WRITE MY DISSERTATION AND I JUST

Never thought I’d see the day but oh my days I like coding better than writing/analyzing results. Lemme at that R script.

Do I recommend getting a PhD during a worldwide pandemic? No. Do I recommend getting a PhD at any point in life? Also no.
