“no code” used to be a dirty word to me I’ve been building with @flutterflow the past few weeks and it has totally changed my mind In a couple of weeks I now have a full fledged app running on my phone with no dev experience

We’re hypocrites in the product world. We say we’re outcome focused and not output focused… …but the entire framing of “product” and “product teams” focuses on output, and NOT outcomes

Calling ourselves “product teams” is hypocritical if we actually care about outcomes over output It’s like accountants calling themselves “spreadsheeters” because it’s a common output they create

New Behavior Enablement Team > Product Team

Changing your perspective from- “we’re building a product” ⬇️ “we’re enabling better user behaviors” dramatically changes how you approach your work

I’m coming to the realization that I don’t actually care about “product” I care about finding better ways to do things, then helping people adopt that behavior Products just happen to be the best way to enable and teach those new behaviors

How we think about solutions in product is wrong. The solution that delivers the desired outcome ISN’T the product, it’s the new BEHAVIOR users do. The product simply enables and teaches the new behavior. Prove what new behavior delivers the outcome, then build a product.

Outcome ⬇️ Behavior ⬇️ Product

Result ⬇️⬆️ Behavior ⬇️⬆️ Tool

How can we come up with better ideas? First we need to understand the fundamental parts of a "new idea" medium.com/@jacksongrassl

New hot take Design definition “creating tools (physical, digital, knowledge) to change people’s behaviors”

Working on “The Anatomy of Ideas” Trying to discover the first principles of ideas The 4 parts of an idea are- 1. Understanding of a system 2. Result of the system 3. Desired result for the system 4 Proposed modification to the system

Started to learn how to code with SwiftUI at the beginning of the year I just use a self guided course and ChatGPT Today I have my first app done and running on my phone! 🎉 It’s super simple and I don’t expect anyone but me to use it Main take away: AI is an insane tutor

In the future I think there are 2 main types of software people will build 1. Software that searches databases for you, retrieves relevant information, then creates a UI for that info 2. Software that host and collect the data type 1 products search

Morning outside walks are my new favorite. They give me more energy and make me feel better than going to the gym. Never would have thought that.

New thought on what success is- “Success is having your life in a place where you can be present in your day to day life” — Always thinking about this thanks to @ShaneAParrish always asking his guests on the pod
