Take a lap, Declan! 👏

Falling in love with a place is like hunger, but satisfaction. There is a constant desire for more; all you can think about is seeing more and embracing it. The adventure consumes you. Forever in debt to my favorite place on earth @MerrimackMIH @coachborek @Merrimack

That will just never make sense to me. There could be others. As far as I know, there are only two hockey players affected by this. Merrimack men’s player Jordan Seyfert and St. Cloud women’s player Courtney Hall. They should both have had their waivers approved by the @NCAA

Good for Theodore for winning his waiver. This is also the exact point I was making earlier this summer re: Jordan Seyfert, whose waiver was denied by the @NCAA . It’s the same situation, but Seyfert got hurt in the wrong season, I guess? That’s the only difference.

Former AIC/Union forward Chris Theodore has had a medical hardship waiver approved. He'll play this season at Vermont out of the portal. Theodore had 13pts for Union last year and 29pts for AIC two seasons ago.

One of the very best warriors ever sad day

Crushed by a decision made that totally changes my future. Wanted it for something bigger than myself. My family, students, and most importantly the school. This place instilled love into my heart like no other. Unfortunate people look at paper/games played over having a heart

Taking away a kids final year cause he played x amount of games? What are we talking about. Kids given his heart and soul to MC. He deserves that last year

This really needs to be pressed to the NCAA. Our daughter missed the entire season to back surgery while her teammates at St. Cloud and most of the NCAA women’s teams played and a National Champion was crowned. The season existed and is in the record books.

Jordan Seyfert Reposted

Same exact situation with me. I completely missed the 2020-2021 season due to having back surgery. My team played 25+ games while I played zero. No additional year given to me, while my teammates got an extra year. Doesn’t feel right at all, however, the NCAA does not care.

That's where it feels like Seyfert slipped through the cracks. Had he missed any of his other seasons, he would have been able to obtain a medical redshirt. But because it was 2020-21, he can't. Something about that doesn't feel right to me.

Jordan Seyfert Reposted

Seyfert missed the entire 2020-21 season due to an injury, but he can't obtain a medical redshirt for that year under the guidelines the NCAA used to grant a fifth year of eligibility. Essentially, players don't get a 5th year. They just don't count 2020-21.

Jordan Seyfert's medical redshirt waiver was denied by the NCAA and he has run out of eligibility. themackreport.com/p/seyferts-med…

But I do feel for those players who won't get it because a) their team chose not to play or b) they were hurt and can't redshirt that year because the NCAA considers it having not happened. Not their fault. Also feel for the 01s, 02s, 03s who have had recruiting impacted.

Jordan Seyfert Reposted

From a player standpoint (current players) the issue with the 5th year is that not everyone gets it. Essentially, the NCAA considers the 2020-21 season as having not existed. Which, it did. Clearly. They awarded a national championship.

Jordan Seyfert Reposted

Something the NCAA didn't consider when adding the 5th COVID year. 1) What about players from Ivies or other schools that didn't play in 2020-21. They don't get a 5th year. Just unlucky? 2) What about a player whose team DID play but missed the 2020-21 season due to injury?

Some renderings of Merrimack’s Lawler Arena renovation. Project has started and will be complete for this upcoming season.
