Anybody new there or thinking about joining? I got help for you, Spurs Starter Pack (designed to make it easy to find many Spurs fans/contributors): go.bsky.app/8h2P9bb

Going to try an experiment and post about tonight's game over on the other, less hellscapey site. If you're interested, you know what to do.

Harrison Barnes was on hand for Steph Curry's 54-point game at MSG. He witnessed Klay Thompson's 37-point quarter against the Kings. As for Wemby's first 50-piece? “I’ve seen a few things,” Barnes said. “This was pretty impressive.” expressnews.com/sports/spurs/a… via @expressnews

Fun fact: Before Wemby on Wednesday, the Spurs' last 50-point game in regulation was David Robinson's club-record 71-point opus against the Clippers in April 1994.

The triple take: Spurs 139, Wizards 130 1. Breaking down Wemby's first 50-piece 2. Mitch Johnson kvetches about the Spurs' defense; Pop would be proud 3. Don't look now -- or do -- but the Spurs have become maestros of the 3rd quarter expressnews.com/sports/spurs/a… via @expressnews

The Spurs' sixth win last season did not come until Jan. 10. That victory at Detroit improved their record to 6-30.

The Spurs improve to 6-6, the deepest into a season they've been .500 or better since 2020-21

In an apple doesn't fall far moment: Mitch Johnson spent much of tonight's postgame presser bemoaning the Spurs' defense. The Spurs won 139-130 behind Victor Wembanyama's 50 points.

It might have worked. Wemby's at the table to check in

Brandon Jennings showing up on these lists always slays me.

Youngest NBA players to score 50 points in a game 1. Brandon Jennings: 20 years, 52 days in 2009 2. LeBron James: 20 years, 80 days in 2005 3. Devin Booker: 20 years, 145 days in 2017 4. Victor Wembanyama: 20 years, 314 days on Wednesday vs. Wizards

I was supposed to stop?

That’s the 2nd Rifleman reference in as many days by you…. You rocking flannel and baggy jeans too, a la 1992?

Wemby scores 50 (and counting) ... -- youngest Spur to ever score 50 -- 4th youngest player in NBA history to do it (Brandon Jennings, LeBron James, Devin Booker) -- youngest player in NBA history with 50 points and 8 3s in a game

Spurs' bench playing like it wants Wemby to come back in and go for 60. Three straight Wizards buckets cuts it to 15.

Wemby comes out with 7:30 to play. With the Spurs ahead 120-101, he might not get back in.

Vic up to 50 points, the 14th 50-point game in Spurs history and first since LaMarcus Aldridge in January 2019.

He will start the fourth. And then we'll see how it goes.

Will he even play the 4th?

Also worth watching: Wemby enters the fourth having made 8 3-pointers. The Spurs franchise record for a single game is 9, set by Chuck Person in 1997.
