As we celebrate #Armistice, I recall the stories of my late grandfather Sorie Kargbo, who fought alongside the British, in Burma (Myanmar), part of the East Asian theatre of World War II. The most thrilling was when he released a swarm of bees on the Japanese, to repel an ambush

Congratulations to Donald J. Trump, on a historic victory as the 47th President of the United States of America. Our expectations aligned towards a rewarding and democratically bonded relationship.

The people of Botswana have decided, registering a seismic change as the party that ruled for 58yrs loses power. President Mokgweetsi Masisi conceded defeat, which is now becoming a rare feat. The wind of change continues to blow over the continent, Sierra Leone is no exception.

One Country Two Nations. (Govt people and the other people). A tribunal adjudged adversely against the Auditor-General. But the Professional Accounting Body, found no misconduct. Who’s compromised, the Judges or the Accountants? A tale of two systems of law, as Parliament decides

Wow! Egypt has been certified #malaria-free by WHO. While Malaria is as old as Egyptian civilization, in S/Leone, it is as much alive today as the air we breathe. Monitoring and avoiding mosquito bites are effective ways for prevention. Let the authorities copy a leaf from Egypt.

Today, we walked a 5mile coastline, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Week. 2yrs ago, we lost our dear mother to Cancer. Had we the requisite knowledge, and taken preventative measures earlier, she most likely would’ve been alive. Proud to be a Cancer Awareness Advocate.

Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, a veteran journalist, Member of Parliament, political analyst, a Man of Peace, true patriot and unarguably the Encyclopedia of Political History and Development of S/Leone, is 80yrs today. Happy birthday Uncle IB, may God continue to bless you with good health

The unfolding events at the APC Party Hq and the stream of bad blood flowing through the veins of political camps and the Executive Branch, is uncalled for and must be stopped. The APC belongs to the general membership and we must endeavor to accommodate and constructively engage

A World Bank Report identified systemic challenges in the energy sector of S/Leone, ranging from operational inefficiencies to financial mismanagement. You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people, all of the time. Chickens have come home to roost😂

Access to financing has been a perennial challenge to small business. Hence the signing of a new $25ml risk sharing agreement between Ecobank (SL) and British International Investment is welcomed. We are confident that Ecobank will ensure ordinary market women enjoy these fruits

Wishing a blissful birthday to a loving, caring, and beautiful wife, Lynne. As you turn the curve of half a century, may you continue to be showered with the covenant blood of Christ. I am deeply grateful for your love and support. When I had nothing, you were there for me 🙏🎂🎁

Wishing a Special Birthday to President Dr Ernest Bai Koroma, a compassionate leader, and friend. You offered me a spotlight on the global stage, and dawned on me the sash of politics. Your footprints are engraved in the annals of history. Stay blessed and the Lord is with thee🙏

The #MCC Grant to #Sierra Leone, is for the benefit of the country and the gesture is welcomed. Our advice is for a layering of accountability and integrity in the disbursement and implementation of Projects. Civil Society and opposition should be integrated into the architecture

YOU DO NOT RUN AN ECONOMY ON PROPAGANDA: Objective commentators, have warned against imprudent economic policies. The IMF, has vindicated that position. The truth prevails. Our economy is in an intensive care unit, waiting for IVF doses from the Millennium Challenge Corporation

Our public debt increased by 23.2% in 2023 reaching SLE 63.69 billion. This debt burden forced to be toted by us, will most likely be shifted on the shoulders of our grand children. We need to re-examine spending habits, like foreign travels and public wastage through corruption.

Theme for the International Day of Democracy is 'Artificial Intelligence as a tool for good governance'. This is great if it ensures integrity in vote count. Africans need true representation of votes. Let the choice of the citizens prevail. With that, comes peace and development

Sunday proverbs to eat with Jollof rice: No matter how violent the wind may be, it can never force the river to flow backwards Do not argue with a madman because people watching will not know who is who Do not throw insults at a crocodile when you’re crossing a river

APC pretending Aspirants are globetrotting and attending parties, while the grassroots suffer under the yoke of bad governance at home. No comment or an iota of opposition posturing, is heard from the caboodle. Next Convention will not be business as usual, nor a Coronation.

Payment of fines for prison inmates, by the Chief Minister, even with the best of intentions, is in error of judgment. Sentencing was because of crimes committed and not poverty. The payment unknowingly promotes impunity. Better to have enabled the Legal Aid, to do the needful.
