We’ve long known that epithelioid #sarcoma can be divided into proximal and classic subtypes, which have distinct clinical and morphologic features. Now, a new study by Sigalotti et al. gives us molecular insight behind these subtypes. Fascinating work! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

One of my favorite 40x fields I've ever seen! Beautiful ladybird cells (neoplastic cells with a cytoplasmic rim of hemosiderin) in a tenosyonvial giant cell tumor. #BSTpath

Spitz nevi with 11p gains are histologically distinctive, typically intradermal with pronounced desmoplastic stroma, an infiltrative growth pattern, and pleomorphic nuclei. Activating HRAS mutations with secondary 11p gain likely drive their unique appearance. #dermpath

A stunning example of hybrid SEF/LGFMS. MUC4 = diffusely positive. Most cases harbor FUS::CREB3L2 fusions, similar to that seen in most LGFMS. #BSTpath #Sarcoma

Never skip “leg day”! Adding this to the recommended reading list for the #BSTPath rotation immediately. Congrats, @Nooshin_Dashti @ScottBikeethan and team. #PathTwitter @DHPathRes

Focusing only on tumors is like the guys who lift weights at the gym and only focuses on the upper body with no dedicated leg days! If you focus more on legs (and core) the upper body will follow.
