#FASDawarenessmonth 2024 is here! Getting the right information about #alcoholharm in pregnancy is crucial for our Aussie kids to have the best start...and mitigate challenges. Lets do away with the blame and the shame and instead inform and empower! #knowfasd #alcoholfree #fasd
It’s time to put on your red shoes, September is international FASD Awareness Month👠 Learn more: fasdhub.org.au/fasdawarenessm… #FASDHub #fasdhubau #RedShoesRock #FASD #FASDAwareness @FAREAustralia @NOFASDAustralia @NACCHOAustralia @TheKids_AU
Together we can raise awareness, provide support and change outcomes for people living with #FASD thank you Cheryl for the years of work in this space #fasdawarenessmonth #knowfasd #redshoesrock abc.net.au/news/2023-09-0…
Karyn wants all young people in her community who live with FASD to thrive. That’s why she established Auntie’s Place. It's a community-led safe space where young people learn about alcohol and other drugs, and mental health, from local aunties and uncles. #RedShoesRock #FASD
I'M READY! I'll be rocking my #redshoes this September for #fasdawarenessmonth 🙌🏽 Alcohol and pregnancy do not mix, but we can drive prevention through awareness and support. Please help by getting involved and spreading the word "there is no safe level" #knowfasd
Throughout September we encourage everyone to wear red shoes or socks to spark conversations about this largely invisible disability. And there’s a bunch of ways to get involved!
Children with #FASD do not belong in prison. Children do not belong in isolation cells. This is unacceptable. Its time our states and territories are given the resources and training to support our vulnerable youth. #fasdawareness #dobetter #alcoholharm theguardian.com/australia-news…
I want alcohol companies to stop trying to convince me and other mums that drinking is the answer to the pressures that we face, writes Caterina Giorgi. womensagenda.com.au/life/womens-he…
No surpises here. Again we see the #alcoholindustry given a pass by our federal and state governments. I recently attended a summit with a focus on improving prenatal health without mention of #alcoholandpregnancy and its consequences. These decisions stink of agenda. Shameful.
“Why was alcohol not mentioned once in the outcomes of the National Cabinet meeting on violence against women? The reluctance to talk about alcohol not only invalidates the lived experience of these survivors, but creates policy paralysis.” womensagenda.com.au/latest/alcohol…
"I believe in the right to be seen. To be heard. To take up space and feel empowered to participate fully in society and make my own choices, fulfil my desires and reach my goals to the greatest extent possible." @JB_TalksFASD at the @FASDUnited Research Conference in Vancouver.
Im beyond. Thank you for those who have supported and scaffolded me to be in a place to help drive prevention through awareness. Alcohol in pregnancy is harmful with lifelong consequences, but we can create better outcomes with understanding and informed support #fasdawareness
Congratulations to Jessica Birch who has been awarded the 2024 Heather Jones Community Award for her contribution to awareness and understanding of FASD. We were thrilled to acknowledge the positive impact Jess has in the #fasd community and beyond at the FASD Forum 24.

This #InternationalDayOfTheMidwife - we are celebrating all of the amazing midwives who do such incredible work. We are proud to work with @MidwivesACM on Every Moment Matters - creating supportive environments for alcohol free pregnancies.
Midwives play one of the most crucial roles in providing support and care to women who are pregnant, and in early stages of breastfeeding. Throughout this journey, they provide advice about why it’s important to go alcohol-free during pregnancy, and safe breastfeeding practices.
Since first working alongside FARE on our campaign on pregnancy warning labels, Jessica Birch (@JB_TalksFASD) has shared her story of living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) as part of the Every Moment Matters campaign and engaged with decision-makers in Canberra.
FARE works collaboratively with individuals and organisations who want to help build an Australia free from alcohol harms. One of those people is Jessica Birch (@JB_TalksFASD). She shared her lived experience of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) as part of Voices of Change.
Better late than never right!? Its been a busy few months, lots to catch up on... but first! I will be jetting off to #Seattle tomorrow to join the @FASDChangeMakrs for the reignited @FASDUnited youth and adult research #conference updates will come 😁
I believe we can reduce alcohol harm in this country, by adopting more social models and collaborating with community members, we create safe, appropriate, effective services and policies. Lets talk about it #knowfasd #alcoholharm #publichealth #FASD #vicvoices @FAREAustralia
